  If I go to Spain again I will seek out AutoFlores. I will use them even if they are not the cheapest because the peace of mind and the way they make it such an easy experience to rent from them is worth a lot. Car Hire companies worldwide - read and learn - you have just been blown out of the water.

  Fantastic service and very friendly staff. I mixed up the dates of the return and when I realised it and called them on the night of the agreed return day I was told not to worry and that I could return the car the next morning without any extra charges.

  Dropping the car off was painless; park in the airport car park and leave the keys in the locked car. Text a number to say where. Walk to plane. The only very small quibble I could think of was that it would have been nice to get a text back to confirm the car was safely collected.

  Mid-week we parked the car in a rural spot while we went to the river nearby. The front window was smashed by thieves looking for valuables; they got nothing, but the window needed fixing. We phoned AutoFlores. That evening, at around 9:30 (a time we chose) they drove to us with a replacement car and drove ours away. They were friendly and apologetic that such a thing had happened. This cost us nothing. Not a thing. Zero. We were staying with a second family who also had an Auto Flores car which was also parked in the same location and was also broken into and replaced at the same time. They had just filled the car up with petrol (we had to leave the cars half full at the end) and the AutoFlores driver told them they should leave the new one empty to make up for the extra petrol that was in it!

  And then I used AutoFlores. Why can't it always be like this? Everything about this experience wasn't just good, but stellar. First; they did all the paperwork up front, by email. I gave them driving licence and passport numbers along with credit card details and an online order for the car we wanted. When we arrived at Malaga airport we were met by a friendly man in a uniform polo shirt (we had to wait nearly 5 minutes for him to turn up, but no problem - we'd got through the airport surprisingly fast - and compared to most hire car queues it's nothing). We followed him to our car in the terminal car park, got given keys, pre-completed paperwork and instructions for return. On our way in no time. He even gave us advice on some good nearby places to get dinner.

  We have been using Autos Flores a family run car hire business now for almost 20 years after walking past their shop/offices on Fuengirola promenade. The service has always been excellent and as a regular customer their prices are very competitive. During our time in Spain recently we were unfortunate to be involved in a head on collision resulting in a nasty accident which we were very lucky to walk away from. I feel compelled to write this review as we wanted to let everyone know how superb they were when dealing with this awful situation. We were dealt with quickly and they showed care and compassion with the whole situation to which we were not at fault. From the accident happening including the time spent with the police (who were also excellent), the ambulance staff, the recovery vehicle and the replacement car from Autos Flores was only one and half hours. If you are looking to rent a car along the Marbella coast these are the guys to look at!

  I hate car hire companies. Hate them all with a passion. At best the experience is a nightmare of paperwork and queues and at worst it is a hell of high-pressure sales to push 'optional' extras to pad out low internet quotes.

  Oh yes; the quoted price includes full damage waiver (no excess), second driver and child car seats (though SatNav would have been extra).
